Day 6 of 100 days of UX patterns. Today's challenge was to design a profile page.
Itching to get outdoors, I used the popular app, All Trails, as inspiration. This was not a redesign of the app or brand itself, just a thought on what features and information would be most relevant if I were to use an app to track and find hikes. This profile page features a large profile picture, the hometown (or common hiking area) of the user, and the action of viewing recent hikes, favorite hikes, and friends.
I am competitive, and I know that it can be very satisfying to see an accumulation of all the work someone has put in, in this case miles, elevation gain, and number of hikes. I included a progress bar under the profile image to give reference for the user and friends viewing the profile, as well to reinforce more hikes to come.
